Review of the Albatron KM18G Pro - What's in the Shiny Box?

So, what comes in that shinybox? The Albatron KM18G Pro includes a fair amount of goodies. The package contains:

    • the KM18G Pro motherboard(surprise, surprise)

    • (1) IDE ATA Cable

    • (1) Floppy Disc Cable

    • Installation and Setup Driver CD

    • User Manual

    • (optional) USB Bracket

    • (optional) TV-Out Bracket

    • (optional) 1394 FireWireBracket

The package I received had theoptional USB and TV-Out brackets, but not the 1394 bracket. Themotherboard is 244mm x 244mm, which sound like good dimensions for some of thecustom cases I've seen out there.

Missing is somethingwhich I consider to be an essential part of a motherboard package: theI/O back plate cover. This was a big oversight in Albatron's part, considering the fact that some motherboards vary their connections onthe I/O plate. It's also a strike against them in thedo-it-yourself crowd.
