Foxconn Winfast NF4SK8AA-8EKRS Motherboard Review - Conclusion

Altogether, the Winfast NF4SK8AA8EKRS motherboard is really attractive. Foxconn has done a great job pulling together a robust and useful feature set and using high quality components. The gigabyte LAN, 8-channel audio, SLI, and nice motherboard management software make this board a great and flexible product. Its layout is good, and the installation is easy. If you need to find information, the user manual should be a reliable place to look.

The motherboard is very stable and provides good performance. The benchmarks are all right on par with how is should be performing, if not better. Hardcore overclockers will feel limited, but it obviously was not designed for them. In general systems, this is a solid motherboard with the ability to moderately overclock as a nice side benefit. To find a serious overclocking board, you’re looking at paying noticeably more. Most system builders will find that this motherboard offers sufficient oc’ing features at a reasonable price.

I found it starting online for $100 retail (or $80 new on eBay). For the price, this motherboard can't be beat. It is the cost of a mid-range motherboard but has more to offer than many others. You would need to buy something notably more expensive for a better performing SLI board than this. I highly recommend this Foxconn mobo and any of their other recent boards to system builders, especially those looking for a good stable system with great accompanying software.

Foxconn has been known for making solid motherboards, but has not been highly recognized by overclockers and enthusiasts. It seems like they should be though. This board should grab the attention of that crowd and make high performing systems. Foxconn is enhancing their products, and pricing it well below the high-end offerings, which makes it ideal for picky system builders.

    Highs

    • Great price for a good SLI board (excellent price for performance)
    • Runs good benchmarks for a midrange mobo
    • Excellent feature set
    • SuperBoot and the software BIOS updater are especially nice
    • Layout is logical and effective
    • Software utilities are a nice and convenient addition to a solid board

    Lows

    • Not designed for extreme overclocking
    • Has Firewire internal connector, but no rear bracket for it (but this is the only accessory that seems to be missing)

Thank you for reading the Dev Hardware review of the Winfast NF4SK8AA8EKRS. Many thanks to Foxconn too for giving us the chance to review their motherboard.
