Foxconn Winfast NF4SK8AA-8EKRS Motherboard Review - Installation

I didn’t run into any serious trouble while installing the motherboard. It was very easy, and the Quick Start guide was very thorough. I have to say Foxconn did a good job making everything pretty obvious. Here’s how things went.

This is how the processor with a stock heatsink fits on the motherboard. With the power supply on the right and back panel behind it, this give you an idea of the space you have to work with.

For this setup, I used 2x512MB memory. In single channel configuration, the picture above is how the memory is installed.

Here is the front panel connectors and the north bridge fan hooked up to the System Fan 2 connector. You can see the four black SATA connectors on the right side here.

This is the audio area, left of the video card slots. The case connectors are plugged in. The motherboard is designed to shut off the sound to the rear audio plugs when a headphone is plugged into the case audio jack. Details like this are nice to see for integrated audio.

When installing drives in my case which has the HDD bays facing out, I need to find a longer ATA cable to be able to connect a second ATA drive. This is not a gripe about the motherboard, as this length of cable is common for motherboards. It would just be a nice bonus to have an extra long one.

And finally, here are all the rear connectors in the back panel of the case. Now with everything connected, it’s time to boot it up.
