EPoX 4PDA5+ Review - More Tests
AquaMark 3
This didn't come as too much of a surprise considering the synthetic memory scores we saw in the ScienceMark 2 STREAM tests. The EPoX enjoys a small lead in the overall and CPU scores, but falls behind in the graphics component. I'm not entirely sure why.
3DMark 2001SE
The added memory bandwidth is showing up here as a very large improvement in the 3DMark score.
CDex and LAME MP3 encoder
I used CDex and the included LAME MP3 encoder to rip "Legion of Boom" by The Crystal Method into MP3 files.

This first non-synthetic test shows that the theoretical improvements from the previous tests are still there. A 12 second improvement may not sound like much, but for those who keep or are making digital copies of a large CD collection, this is a useful test.
WinRAR
I used WinRAR 3.30 to decompress the vanilla 2.4.25 kernel from a tar/bzip2 compressed format (tar file compressed with bzip2) and then recompressed it into a RAR format. I set WinRAR to automatically overwrite any existing files on decompress.

I ran these tests twice. The 4PDA5+ shows about a 40 second improvement (38 in recompress, 45 in decompress). Judging by the fact that CPU utilization on my HT processor never went above 52%, I would guess that the disk subsystem is much faster on the 4PDA5+.
