    DFI 855GME-MGF Motherboard Review - 3DMark01 Build 330 SE, Comanche4

    3DMark01 Build 330 SE

As most of you are undoubtedly aware, FutureMark's previous generation synthetic graphics benchmark is good for testing more than just video cards. Differences in system performance can affect the scores as well. Here the Pentium M and DFI combination show that they aren't going to be slapped around when the graphics turn to being produced for games instead of machine parts or architecture drawings. When left at stock speed, the P-M is nearly neck and neck with the A64. Bringing the clock up to 2.26GHz breaks off one of the highest scores I've pulled out of this card in this test.

    Comanche4

In this test you can see that gamers will certainly be interested in this chip as gaming platform. The chip may be low power when looking at it from a wattage standpoint, and the motherboard small in PCB area, but the combination is not lacking in output of pixels. Can you say "LAN box"? The fact that the CPU takes less of a toll on the weak power supplies shipped with most SFF PCs is going to be a welcome factor, especially since the high end graphics cards are trying to grab an ever larger share of the juice for themselves.
