    Adobe After Effects

There are two parts to this benchmark. The first computation is mainly CPU based, while the second is more system oriented. For more information, please go to Media Motion. As can be seen, the P4 system is still the one to be using for multi-threaded media applications like After Effects. The Chaintech board really gets hit in the second test, due to its lacking of RAM. With a full GB, it would perform similarly to the other A64 systems.

    POV-Ray

The CK8 came out victorious in this test. POV-Ray is a raytracing program, used for creating 3 dimensional images, such as this one:

Rendering takes a lot of processing power, as well as memory throughput, since the files can be quite large depending on the options and sizes chosen. For this test, I used POV-Ray v3.5 and the included benchmark test v1.02. All boards performed similarly; however, the Soyo's victory here can be traced back to its "factory overclocking." The Chaintech and Albatron boards by comparison, run very close to the specified speeds.
