Biostar TForce TF570 SLI - BIOS

    BIOS

Time to take a look into the BIOS. Here we find something we don’t normally find in BIOS, and especially not in $80 boards.

Here we have the ability to run Memtest 86+ straight from the BIOS and not have to deal with Windows or any other OS. This is great if you can’t boot into Windows and need to troubleshoot.

We also have hardware monitoring built into the boot up process. If something isn’t right you can fix it before getting all the way into Windows and before realizing something is running out of spec.

This BIOS is fully loaded. It has stuff I have never seen before, such as an Integrated Flashing Program. This will help everyone that needs to upgrade their BIOS, which should be everyone. The only problem is that it requires you to use a floppy, which doesn’t work for the majority of us that ditched our floppy drives back in like 1999.

Finally we will take a look at the overclock features. Everything you need is in the section called “OverClock navigator Engine." You can have the motherboard automatically overclock for you with three different settings. This isn’t perfect by any means. My CPU couldn’t handle the fastest overclock, but the middle one allowed my CPU to clock to 2.6 GHz.

Of course you can overclock on your own, which is what I recommend. You have a nice range of speeds and voltage, except for the memory where you are limited to a maximum of 2.1 volts. All the memory timings and etc. are changeable.
