ASUS P4R800-V Deluxe Review - Performance Testing

    Test Setup

    • Pentium IV 2.4GHz 'C'
    • 1 GB (2x512) Kingston PC4000
    • Antec True Control 550W power supply
    • ATi RADEON 9700 Pro
    • Western Digital Special Edition 80GB 7200 rpm 8MB cache hard driver
    • ASUS P4R800-V Deluxe and ABIT IC7-Max3

For testing I used the latest drivers and bios available for both motherboards.

    SiSoft Sandra 2004

The ASUS P4R800-V starts off the benchmark by making a great showing. I was very surprised to see the ATi chipset match Intel's i875P.

Here we can see the i875P chipset flex its muscle. It's also worth noting the increase in memory bandwidth when not using the onboard video solution. However, we have seen time and time again where strong memory scores from Intel's chipsets do not always translate into a real world performance increase.

Again, the P4R800-V matched the performance of ABIT's IC7-MAX3.
