    ASUS A8N SLI - Recommendation

    Pros

    • Excellent Performance, stability, overclockability and compatibility
    • Amazing system stability while moderately overclocked
    • Great looks, Black Blue and White theme
    • Proactive AI, Lots of unique features all rolled into one
    • Decent price tag at $156

    Cons

    • Top PCI-E slot interferes with installing memory with long graphics cards, but can still function properly
    • Maximum of 1.55v available to the CPU. Over-volts to 1.58v
    • 1T problem has yet to been addressed in Bios updates
    • Only 3.0v available to memory, Good for TCCD, Bad for BH-5-UTT
    • Red SATA cables provided (why not black blue or white?)

The Asus A8N SLI is a great board and is incredibly stable It is jam packed with all of the latest features to get the most out of components. It puts previous generations of motherboards and other hardware to shame, but its issues held me back from issuing this board our DevHardware Recommended award. The low memory voltage option is horrible for the infamous Winbond memory modules, and also the 1T memory problem is just unacceptable since this board has been around for a long time and the problem has still not been addressed. That simply shows that Asus cant figure out the problem.

If you are in the market for probably the most stable motherboard available, the A8N SLI is an excellent purchase and is also perfect for users who are looking for a moderate increase in performance with a little bit of overclocking and want to maintain the same level of stability and reliability as the board provides..

Id like to thank everyone for checking out our review of the Asus A8N SLI, you can check out our front-page for more reviews, or head over to the forums and talk about everything computers.
