    Intel Chipset

Intel's 845PE chipset is aimed squarely at the desktop performance market. With official support for DDR333 and optimization for Intel's very own Pentium 4 with Hyper Threading technology, we have a relative speed demon on our hands. The only thing the 845PE has going against it is it's lack of AGP 8X support. Granite Bay has been introduced with AGP 8X support and Dual Channel DDR, and Canterwood/Springdale are here as well, but the 845PE is still an extremely competitive chipset, and debatably the best P4 solution available for the price at the time of this review.

"The Intel® 845PE chipset is the newest discreet graphics chipset developed with DDR333 and optimized to support the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor supporting Hyper-Threading Technology, adding intelligence to help manage and prioritize multiple threads received from the"

    ABIT Software

A brief touch on the included software package for the BH7. What you see is what you get. Driver software, manual, utilities and hardware monitor. Certainly nothing out of the ordinary but enough to get the job done.

Some folks may enjoy a more feature rich software suite with their motherboards, however what ABIT provides is certainly adequate and most overclockers are not interested in free demo type software as an incentive to purchase a motherboard of this class. Yes, some added frills would certainly be a bonus, but by no mean necessary. Lets move on to checkout ABIT's famous BIOS using SoftMenu™ Technology.
