iPhone Versus BlackBerry Versus Palm Pilot
(Page 1 of 4 )
So, you find yourself in the market for a new, or a first, PDA (personal digital assistant). You know that there are a lot of options out there on the market, and that in order to get what you want you will have to make a pretty big choice. Fortunately, you're not alone; keep reading for some valuable advice in making this important decision.
Your Dilemma
The choice that you have to make will affect how you keep your calendar for the next few years, and if you make the wrong choice you might come up with a case of serious buyer's remorse. Getting a PDA can run you between $200 and $600 depending on the model that you choose, so you have to make the decision wisely. Before you rush out to the store, it is time to do a little bit of digging.
The question is how to choose the right model. Well, I think I know a way to help you make your decision. We are going to have an all out, jaw breaking, no-holds- barred fight to the death where each and every phone will get its chance to pummel and be pummeled by the competition. No matter what else happens in the end, by the time this is all over and done with your will find yourself with one clear victor, standing over a pile of the tattered remains of components of its competition. Oh, the carnage! There will be casing fragments and chips all over the place! Oh the humanity!
Okay, so maybe I over dramatized the way that you will come to your decision. There will be a side-by-side comparison of the different features and traits that you can get if you choose to purchase one type of PDA over another. The goal is that by the end of the piece, you will have a solid idea of which of these PDAs you want to buy, so that you will never have to suffer the heartache of buyer's remorse.
Together we will break down the features of each of these fine machines, but don't worry, I won't be a technology tease, tempting you with the features that only come on the top-of-the-line models that no one in their right mind would shell out for. We will take a look at the features that are found on the common models; that way you will know you are getting at least what was promised, if not more.
Without further delay, let me present our competitors (which you may have guessed from the title of this very piece): the Palm Pilot, the Black Berry and the iPhone.
Representing the Palm Pilot will be the Palm Tungsten line. For the Black Berry we will be looking at the Pearl 8100. The iPhones will be represented by the newest (and most cost effective) model, the iPhone G3.
