Top Five Music Phones of 2008 - Apple iPhone, Still the One

    1. Apple iPhone 3G

It can easily be argued that Apple's iPhone was the most highly anticipated phone in history. One year after the original's release, we've been graced with the presence of the new Apple iPhone 3G. During its short time on the market it has managed to garner the respect of many and has developed a frenzied, devoted fan base.

The Apple iPhone 3G offers many critical new features, including support for high-speed 3G networks, third-party applications and expanded e-mail. The heart of the matter -- and the point of this list -- is the music. Surely there are many consumers whose desire to own an iPhone has nothing to do with its music features. With so many amazing features and such a gorgeous design, the music kind of gets lost in the shuffle. Well, there's a reason why it's number one on the list.

Essentially, Apple's iPhone 3G is capable of performing as an iPod with its beautiful 3.5-inch widescreen display and multi-touch controls. It allows you to browse your music in cover flow -- which displays the album artwork -- and watch widescreen video with the touch of a finger. Apple's iPhone 3G also allows users to scroll through songs, artists, albums and playlists with a simple flick. If you're ever listening to a song and curious to find out the lyrics, you can view the song lyrics added to your library in iTunes. Even more impressive, audio and video from your iTunes library sync to your iPhone when you connect to your computer. Just choose what you want to sync and iTunes does the rest.

It should come as no surprise that such a revolutionary new device comes with a pretty hefty price tag. New and current AT&T customers can buy the 8GB iPhone 3G for $199 or spend $299 for the 16GB model. If you don't qualify for that price, you'll pay $399 and $499 respectively. Yes, it is expensive, but it is the season of giving. No doubt the hordes of happy iPhone users will tell you that it's well worth the price. Aside from a built-in iPod, the iPhone 3G also comes equipped with countless other cool features such as e-mail, podcasts and video. Rest assured, it really IS the best music phone of 2008.
