The TomTom Ease is an entry-level GPS aimed at those who value simplicity. While it does not have a ton of bells and whistles, it has all the features necessary to provide navigational help. Best of all, it is affordably priced, retailing around $120.
Other than its price, the main draw of the TomTom Ease would be its ease of use. Simply put, it lives up to its name, thanks to an intuitive interface that has been simplified so that even the most technologically-deficient user can use the Ease without much trouble. For those who are not native English speakers, the Ease's user interface comes in 22 languages, including French, German, Spanish, Italian, and more. There is even a UK version of English available for our neighbors overseas.
The menu gives you two basic options from the start: plan route or browse map. It is worth noting that the Ease fires up these two options rather quickly, and also gains a usable signal without much waiting involved, allowing you to get on the road and towards your final destination in no time.
Besides the two navigational options offered on the home screen, one can also access other features of the Ease via the shortcuts. For example, you can adjust the sound via the home screen by either muting it or allowing it to be in the audible position. You can also change the brightness and appearance of the screen for when it becomes nighttime or daytime to create less strain on your eyes and allow for better visibility.
The Help menu can be accessed from the home screen, which supplies urgent information in the case of an emergency. This feature will be discussed in more detail as we move along. In addition to all of these shortcuts, other features are accessible on the home screen through the Options menu.
