ThermoHawk 200 Touchless Thermometer - A First Look

The ThermoHawk 200 comes in retail-style packaging, designed to be displayed on a peg in your local store. The packaging holds the ThermoHawk and its contents quite securely in place for transport.

As you can see, the above packaging is quite attractive.  The ThermoHawk itself is quite a compact device as well, and even comes equipped to attach to a key chain, should you so choose.

The contents of the package are quite straightforward. Inside you find the ThermoHawk, the batteries, and an instruction manual.

By twisting off the end with the key chain, you find the battery compartment.  Above, you can see that I've already inserted the two LR44 batteries, and just need to re-attach the cap.

Here's a shot of the business end of the ThermoHawk. The ThermoHawk operates by using an infrared beam to sense the surface temperature of an object. This method is quite effective, and is much quicker since it does not require any prolonged contact with the object being measured, as do other conventional methods of testing the temperature.

After a quick browse through the instruction manual, I believe I am ready to start testing the product.
