You can also surf the Internet on the Samsung Mythic by connecting to AT&T’s 3G network and using the built-in full HTML browser. The browser allows you to view websites either in their full or condensed mobile form. You can add bookmarks easily as well as zoom in and out of pages when necessary.
Beyond the functional aspects of the phone, there are tons of entertainment options available. At the center of these options is the AT&T Mobile TV service. With this service, you get access to live television programs that stream right onto the phone. You won’t have to worry about choppy broadcasts or buffering problems either, because the service uses the Qualcomm MediaFLO network to deliver the signals, rather than cellular airwaves.
The service does cost you $10 per month, but if you are a TV junkie and need your fix while away from home you will be able to enjoy live programming from providers such as Fox, NBC, CBS, ESPN, MTV, Comedy Central, and more. If you are not much of a TV fan, there’s also AT&T Mobile Video, which gives you access to video clips from providers such as HBO, for example, at an extra cost.
The Mythic also comes with features for music lovers as well. You can load your favorite MP3s onto the phone with a microSD card and listen to them using the built-in music player. The music player is easy to use and lets you create playlists, listen in shuffle and repeat modes, and view album art.
If you want to access more musical content, you can use the AT&T Mobile Music service. This service allows you download songs for a fee from monthly subscription programs like eMusic, Yahoo Music, and Napster. It also gives you access to streaming radio through MobiRadio and XM Satellite Radio. You also get access to streaming music videos from MTV and VH1 for added entertainment, and there is a community section that you can visit to interact with other music fans.
