The Hottest iPhone Applications of 2009

Yes, the iPhone is an awesome phone from Apple, but what would it be without all of those neat applications to keep you entertained, organized, and productive? In this article we'll present some of the hottest new iPhone applications of the year. You'll undoubtedly find three or four that are perfect for you. After the release of the iPhone in the past couple of years, people believed that the cell phone industry had permanently changed. At the time, most people were not really sure why; they were just repeating what everyone else was saying. After all, was it not good enough that the cool little phone looked awesome, and responded when you rotated it?

Over time, we have come to realize that the iPhone truly is an incredible piece of technology. It provides all of the latest and greatest features that we look for in any mobile device and puts them all into a layout that easy to use and easy on the eyes. However, one of the greatest innovations of the iPhone is its developer capabilities. Anyone with a bit of tech savvy and the drive to do it can produce their own custom application for the iPhone.

In the beginning, the vast majority of these applications were little games that could amuse iPhone users for a couple of hours and then be deleted. Nobody really took them all that seriously. Soon enough, though, producers saw the potential and began releasing serious applications. The first great applications were organizers. These applications would allow you to jot down notes, produce to-do lists, and just generally keep track of your life.

Over time, the applications became more and more complicated and began offering more features with greater variety. With thousands upon thousands of developers working on applications, the limitations were the creativity of a massive user work force with (seemingly) plenty of spare time.

Now, there are over 10,000 iPhone applications on the market. There is something for just about anything that you could imagine. The real trick is becoming figuring out which iPhone applications are high quality programs that can help you, and which ones are worthless toys that are not even worth downloading. The following are some of the most exciting, useful, and helpful applications as we are a little over midway into 2009.
