The HTC Wizard: Mobile Genius
Are you looking for a mobile device that is truly magical? While the smart phone/PDA market has become notably crowded over the past three years, some devices stand out among the competition. Today we're taking a look at the HTC Wizard to see if it lives up to its name.
Mobile phones, or cell phones as citizens of the U.S. like to say, are getting smarter. That's true for all of them; even when buying a cheap one it can be difficult to find one that doesn't have an MP3 player, (semi) decent organizer software and other special features that make it more than just a phone. Taking this into account the HTC Wizard (also known by many other operator specific brand names including the XDA mini S or the MDA Vario) is so much more than just a smart phone. If this phone were a person it would be Stephen Hawking. It has been around, in various guises, for perhaps a year, but is only just starting to be considered mainstream. Join me as I investigate its rich feature set and decide for yourselves whether it's a gimmicky wannabe or an IQ-busting genius.
First, let me give you a little information about the people that brought it to us. HTC (High Tech Computer Corp) was founded in 1997 and is based in Taiwan. They have unique partnerships with the top five mobile operators in both Europe and the USA and many top operators in the rapidly expanding Asian markets. They specialize in producing cutting-edge, innovative converged devices, have released a range of state-of-the-art PDA phones and smart phones and they work with some of the most advanced technology developers to facilitate the best applications. HTC are one of the fastest growing companies in the mobile device market and have generated world wide interest in and respect for their products.
