    Sonim XP3 Quest - Design

In terms of design, the Sonim XP3 Quest is a perfect example of substance over style. It's definitely not a phone you would take into a fine restaurant to show off; it resembles a walkie talkie. Then again, the manufacturer stresses brawn over beauty with this phone, and it's most likely to be used on construction sites or by people in strenuous conditions, so the looks really do not matter that much.

There are two different color schemes to choose from, either black and yellow or black and gray. It is a bit heavier than most phones at 5.9 ounces, but such is to be expected with a heartier device. The XP3 measures 4.56 inches tall by 2.2 inches wide by 0.98 inch thick and is a bit bulky, but compact enough to fit in a pocket. It is protected by a plastic exterior marked by rubber padding throughout that not only serves as protection but also helps the user get a good grip.

The front of the XP3 has a 1.75 inch display with 220x176 resolution that produces bright, colorful images. Unfortunately, with a small display, you also tend to get smaller text, so don't forget your glasses when using the phone if your eyesight is not the best.

Beneath the display you have the navigational controls as well as the keypad. They backlit keys and controls are large and sensitive to the touch, and work well in unison with the phone's intuitive and easy to navigate menu system.
