Sonim XP3 Quest
Are you someone with a really bad temper and feel like throwing your phone at times, like me? Are you clumsy and drop things constantly? Do you take unexpected dips in the pool? Are you a thrill seeker that likes white water rafting and climbing, perhaps? If any of the above apply to you, you may want to take a look at the Sonim XP3 Quest cellular phone.
The Sonim XP3 Quest is an ultra-durable phone perfect for the adventurous and clumsy alike. It is built to military standards when it comes to durability and is able to withstand all types of rugged environments. Whether you are out at sea, riding rapids, in the desert, climbing mountains, or hiking in the snow, the XP3 Quest can handle what you throw at it, and is also great to have if you tend to work in construction. Not only is it waterproof, dust-proof, and dirt-proof, but it can handle shock and vibrations, so much so that you can drop it from decent heights or even use it as a hammer.
Just because it is rugged does not mean it is a one-dimensional device, though. The Sonim XP3 Quest has GPS, Bluetooth, FM radio, and a camera as well. It won't win any beauty contests, but those seeking durability shouldn't care about something so frivolous. The XP3 Quest is an unlocked phone that is available for $399. That price may be steep, but if you constantly find yourself breaking cell phones and having to replace them, it may pay for itself in the long run.
In terms of the basic phone features, almost everything is present with the Sonim XP3 Quest. It comes with a speakerphone, calendar, calculator, unit converter, stopwatch, voice recorder, and timer. Text messaging comes standard, but it is surprising that you cannot engage in multimedia messaging on the XP3 Quest. This is disappointing, since this feature is pretty basic nowadays to most cellular phones on the market.
Bluetooth is present, as well as an FM radio, which is a nice touch. You can also sync the phone to your PC. You can save up to 1,000 contacts in the XP3 and detailed information for each, including phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, and notes just to name a few. You can group your contacts to sort them between business and personal, and also attach a ring tone and photo to each as well. The XP3 comes with five standard ringtones, but if those do not tickle your fancy you can use your own.
One plus about the ringer on the XP3 is that it is very loud, which is good to have if you are in loud places or outdoors. Besides the ringtones, you can also customize the XP3 with different alert tones, greetings, wallpapers, screen savers, and themes. Sorry gamers, there are no games that come loaded on the XP3 to help you pass the time.
