Shopping Guide For Hands-Free Headsets - Comfort

Now, I know that you think this should go hand in hand with style, but I’m talking about how a bud style headset will fit into your ear. If the bud is too small or too large, then you will find the experience of using the bud either annoying or painful, depending on the size.

Look at the bud. It should offer your ears some give. If the whole of the bud piece is not made of a flexible material like rubber or silicone, then there should be some sort of padding or coating that will allow the bud to conform to the contours of your ear, at least a little. Few shoppers give this any consideration at the time of the actual purchase, but it is critical.

Also, don’t be seduced by the headset coming with so-called interchangeable heads if the heads are also made of a hard material. It’s just more ways to be uncomfortable.

Now you have a solid grip on all of the things you have to consider when you get yourself a wireless headset. I know it can seem like a lot of elements that you have to juggle, but when you are done you will get exactly what you need at the right price. Happy shopping.

You may have noticed that I didn’t mention specific models. This is because your humble author knows that the "right pick" will vary by phone and by the needs of the end user. There is no one headset that is right for everyone, so don't be fooled by any reviewer who says that there is.
