    Sharp Wizard OZ-590 Review

Handhelds"What was I supposed to do today?" "What was that phone number?" "When is our anniversary?" Well, maybe if you had a decent pocket organizer you wouldn't have to ask these questions. Today I'm going to take a look at Sharp's Wizard OZ-590® electronic pocket organizer. What I'm aiming to find out here is whether or not you need to spend $150 or more on an actual PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) or if a $50 pocket organizer will meet your needs. So is this Wizard's magic powerful enough to organize your life, or will you need to summon the dark forces of the PDA underworld to do your bidding? Read on.

I don't know how many times I've been in the situation where either my cell phone dies, or I simply don't have it with me, and I can't remember an important phone number, which of course is saved in my cell's phonebook. Most of us have too many things going on in our lives to keep a bunch of extra numbers in our heads. The same goes for dates, appointments, and anything that needs to be done, but that can easily slip our mind. That, my friends, is where the pocket organizer comes in.

I'm sure most of you have come into some sort of contact with the pocket organizers more expensive brother, the PDA (personal digital assistant). The main difference between the two, besides the price of course, is that a PDA functions as sort of a mini-PC (personal computer) and therefore is able to run some simplified PC programs such as Word, spreadsheets, and maybe some email programs. The pocket organizer on the other hand is pretty much what it's name implies: an organizer that fits in your pocket. (Aha! So it's not just clever wordplay!) Its main functions are to take the things that most often become unorganized or lost, such as contacts (as in people, not visual aides), dates, and of course daily tasks. So let's find out how well the Wizard OZ-590® handles all these tasks (and more). Here are the specs from the manufacturer's website:
