    Samsung U3 Review - Design

The size of the U3 is awesome, in my opinion, and would make an excellent player to bring along on a jog, walk, or when lifting weights. The U3 measures in at 3.2 x 1.0 x 0.5 inches, and weighs only 0.8 pounds.

The U3 looks nice, and comes in a variety of colors: black, white, green, blue, and pink. The face of the player sports a 1 inch organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display which, although not in color, offers better power consumption and is brighter than a typical LCD screen. Next to the OLED display you can find the main controller of the U3, which is a simple 4-way touch-sensitive controller. This controller will allow the user to adjust volume, switch between tracks, and navigate the menu system. This player also has a hold button on the side of the body, which is necessary with a touch-sensitive pad so that you don't accidentally hit a button while the player is in your pocket.

The top of the player sports the power button which also serves as a play/pause button. There is also a very cool blue light located on the top of the player
which lights up when synchronizing the device and when you touch a button on the player. I think that this is a good feature, because it gives you confirmation that the device is synchronizing or that you have hit one of the controls. For those who do not to prefer to have this soft blue light feature on, it can be turned off in the options menu.

The bottom of the device is where the USB connector pops out from inside the player so that it can be plugged into a PC. The connector pops out via a
button on the side of the player.  Because of this feature, you will have no need to mess with any USB cables which is very nice.

The last button on the device is a user-adjustable button which can be changed at the user's discretion. This button comes programmed as a voice record button
out of the box, but it can be easily changed in the options menu.

I like two of the accessories which come with the U3: the clip and the headphone reel. The see-through clip can be connected to the back of the player, and can be removed easily as well. It is a simple, yet very functional little feature. This is also true for the headphone reel which is also included in the box.  This reel helps to keep the headphone cord nice and tidy.
