Samsung U3 Review
When Samsung released their third generation of "U" model MP3 player, they decided to go back to what really made the original device popular. What made the original "U" popular was the built-in USB connector which allows the user to connect the player directly to a PC, bypassing any USB cables. Today we'll check out this feature and more in Samsung's U3.
The second generation "U" does not have this capability, but Samsung has decided to put it into their new for 2007 Samsung U3. I'm glad that Samsung decided to put the built-in USB connector into this model, because it goes really well with the theme of this player: simple and very functional.

Samsung has released the U3 in 1 GB, 2 GB, or 4 GB versions. The amount of memory will not blow you away, but it is sufficient for this player's functions.
The U3 is not a video player; it strictly plays music. The features are very limited on this player, but it seems that the U3 has the features it needs to to be very functional.
In other words, this player is not for everyone. It seems to be targeted at the fitness crowd, or at someone looking for a simple and easy to use player with lots of memory for voice recording. Yes, it does have a built-in microphone which will give the user about 33 hours of voice recording, if necessary. So, this player may be a good tool for a business person who would be able to leave many hours of notes onto the flash drive in the U3.
The price of the U3 is relatively low for what you get in terms of features and accessories. The 2 GB model will run you about $69, with the 1 GB and 4 GB about $49 and $119 respectively. This seems to be a good value considering you get the following in the box:
The headphone reel is a great accessory which keeps the headphone cord from getting tangled. The removable clip is also a simple, yet great to have accessory
which allows the user to easily clip the player to a pocket, shirt, pants, or anywhere else they may want it.
