Samsung Trill for U.S. Cellular and the Acer Liquid
(Page 1 of 4 )
Today we'll be reviewing two very different phones, the Samsung Trill and the Acer Liquid. The Trill, as its name would suggest, is designed to appeal to those who love their music, while the Liquid features the much-coveted Android operating system. Let's take a closer look.
Samsung Trill for U.S. Cellular
The Samsung Trill is a basic slider phone that centers around a quality music player. Made for U.S. Cellular customers, the Trill is available at a very affordable price of $20 after rebates and a two-year contract.
The basic features of the Samsung Trill include a speakerphone, vibrate mode, conference calling, an alarm clock, a calculator, and a stop watch. To help you keep organized, the phone has a calendar and a memo book. There is also a voice recorder for those unforgettable thoughts that pop into your head. If you travel overseas, the phone's world clock and converter can be of help.
The Trill's phone book can store up to 1,000 contacts, with room for multiple phone numbers, email addresses, and more. You can sort the contacts into groups and also allocate each a polyphonic ringtone and a photo. If the standard ringtones that come on the phone do not tickle your fancy, you can download more from U.S. Cellular. You can also download several wallpapers and themes to further customize the phone, as well as apps and Java-based games for entertainment.
Beyond the basic features we find stereo Bluetooth so that you can pair the Trill with other compatible devices wirelessly. Among the profiles supported are stereo headsets, hands-free kits, and more. The Trill also features USB mass storage and supports voice commands.
If you are on the road a lot, the phone's integrated GPS will come in handy. You can receive navigational help with turn-by-turn directions through an app made available by the carrier to assure that you don't get lost when in unfamiliar territory.
As far as messaging is concerned, you are limited to the basic text and multimedia messaging with the Trill, and you won't find any mobile email support with the phone. It does, however, come with a web browser that you can use to visit email providers' sites directly.
