    Samsung Solstice SGH-A887

AT&T customers or those looking for an affordable touch screen phone are likely to be interested in a new arrival from Samsung, the Solstice SGH-A887 cell phone. This new release from the manufacturer specifically for AT&T combines touch screen capability and convenience with a nice set of features for a decent price.

By looking at the feature set, one could ascertain that that Solstice was designed with the younger consumer in mind. The phone is not loaded with tons of business-related applications or features. Rather, its features seem to center more on the social aspect of communication devices.

The Solstice has instant messaging capability as well as many apps for social networking sites. Its full QWERTY touch screen keyboard also makes it ideal for quick messaging on the go. Add in the camera and other multimedia features, and you have a cell phone perfect for a teenager or young adult.

The Samsung Solstice certainly isn’t flawless, particularly when it comes to performance, but its touch screen design and long list of features should keep customers satisfied without breaking the bank. The Samsung Solstice is currently available for AT&T subscribers for $99.99 with service from the carrier.

Let’s begin our review of the Samsung Solstice cell phone by discussing its features. First let's look at the basics. The Solstice comes with standard features including speakerphone, voice and dialing commands, multi-party calling, a calendar, both a regular calculator and tip calculator (don’t whip this feature out if you are on a first date), an alarm clock, and a stopwatch/timer.

To help you keep organized and on top of things, there is a memo pad, task list, and a voice recorder. For those who travel internationally, there is a world clock to help with jet lag, as well as a currency and unit converter. The Samsung Solstice also has GPS capability, which comes in handy for domestic travelers or those who tend to get lost from time to time.

You can get real time turn-by-turn voice directions from your Solstice via the AT&T Navigator app. Traffic updates transmit through this app and make it a handy tool to have if you work on a time-sensitive schedule or live in a large metropolitan area.

Full Bluetooth is also enabled on the Solstice for staying connected while constantly on the go. The eco-conscious crowd will be pleased to know that the Solstice comes with an Energy Star battery charger. You can also sync the SGH-A887 to your PC, and it comes with a file manager as well.
