The basic features on the HTC Snap for Alltel include a speakerphone, speed dial, and conference calling, as well as such standard fare as an alarm clock, notepad, and calculator, among other things. You can store as many contacts as will fit on the Snap's available memory, and you can input multiple phone numbers, email addresses, and other data for each. You can also sort your contacts into groups, and give each a different ringtone and photo.
More advanced features on the HTC Snap for Alltel include Bluetooth, which supports various profiles such as hands-free kits, wireless headsets, and file transfer, among others. Integrated GPS is onboard, and with Alltel Navigation service you can get turn-by-turn voice-guided directions. Integrated Wi-Fi is present to allow you to connect to available wireless networks while on the go.
The Snap is also great for world travelers, who can use its world roaming capabilities to connect to available GSM networks while overseas, and in the box you even get four international adapters for use with the phone when traveling. For fun, you also get an integrated 2-megapixel camera on the Snap.
The design of the HTC Snap for Alltel mirrors the Blackberry. The phone is mostly black in color and weighs 4.23 ounces. It measures 4.59 inches tall by 2.42 inches wide by 0.47 inch thick. Its exterior is mostly black with a hint of gray thrown in.
The Snap's front is dominated by its 2.4-inch display, which produces crisp, clear graphics. Beneath the display sit the navigational buttons, which include an easy-to-use trackball. A full QWERTY keyboard lies beneath the navigational buttons. Its keys are a decent size and good for quick messaging.
The HTC Snap for Alltel is a good substitute for those looking for a phone similar to the Blackberry. It is very affordable, and has a nice feature set and good design for those looking for a messaging phone that can also be used overseas.
