Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 - Applications and More

The Samsung Reclaim does its best to keep up with the Joneses in the ever- growing app world that seems to have taken cell phones by storm lately. Those who purchase the SPH-M560 for its environmentally conscious theme will enjoy the Green Glossary and Green Guide apps that offer a good background as well as several tips to help users save the Earth one person at a time.

There are several apps that cover more well-known social networking and entertainment services as well, such as Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube. Some more practical apps that are available are Google search and Google Maps, which helps the geographically challenged gain their bearings using the SPH-M560’s built-in GPS to get real time geo data and directions.

If the apps aren’t enough to keep you busy, the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 also supports multimedia in the form of music and video. You can play MP3s on the phone using the built-in media player that supports most major audio formats. You can get additional music on the fly using Sprint’s EV-DO network to download new music from the Sprint Store to both your cell phone and computer simultaneously.

One down side to the music capability of the Reclaim is that you cannot use any of your MP3s as ringtones. You will have to download ringtones separately. Streaming video is also supported and you can view a variety of content from the Sprint Movie and Sprint TV services.

The Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 also comes equipped with a 2 megapixel camera. You can adjust several settings on the camera to suit your photo taking style, such as resolution, color, zoom, and brightness, just to name a few. There’s a self timer for those all-important self-taken bathroom photos. The camera records up to 25 seconds of video as well.

There’s no need to wait until you get home to your laptop to share your newly-taken video and photos with the world. On the SPH-M560, you can send your content to others via multimedia message. You can also upload the new content directly to your favorite social networking and sharing sites like Flickr, YouTube, Facebook, or MySpace. If you want hard copies of your photos, you can also send them directly to a select group of stores for printing, or to your own printer using the Sprint PictBridge app.
