    Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560

Are you looking for a cell phone that will help you save the environment -- or at least make an ecological statement? Then perhaps the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 is for you. Its backs up its undeniable enviro-cred with all the features you'd expect from a smart phone. Keep reading as we take a closer look.

Lately it seems as if there is more of an emphasis being placed across various industries to “go green” to help conserve resources and save planet Earth. In the auto industry, for example, we have more and more hybrid cars being developed, and the Cash for Clunkers program awarded financial incentives to those willing to drive more fuel efficient vehicles. Organic foods have become popular, and many new appliances now have energy saving features.

As evidenced in the past few months, cellular phone companies are looking grab a piece of this “going green” market as well. While it is not the first green cell phone to be introduced (the Motorola Renew W233 is the early bird that caught that worm), the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 definitely deserves some applause for its Earth-friendly pioneering efforts.

It is the first cell phone to be released in the United States that is made using bio-plastic materials. The bio-plastic materials used to make some of the SPH-M560’s exterior are extracted from corn and are 100 percent biodegradable. The ink used in printing the user manual is soy based. The SPH-M560’s battery charger is Energy Star qualified and even the packaging of the cell phone is made from recycled materials.

To further exude its intended eco-friendly vibe, the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 also comes in a green casing which is sure to turn some heads. The Reclaim SPH-M560 is not all image though, as it comes with a full QWERTY keyboard advantageous for easy messaging as well as a nice set of features. Sprint subscribers can go green with the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 for only $49.99 with a two-year service agreement.
