Samsung Rant Cell Phone - Features

Even though the Rant is relatively inexpensive, it contains a plethora of features. These features include an internal phone book, EV-DO, GPS, music player, two-megapixel camera, organizing tools, voice dialing and stereo Bluetooth.

    Internal Phone Book

The Rant's internal phone book has the ability to index 600 fields of information. In these fields, you can hold six phone numbers, email addresses, Instant Messaging information and website URLs. Indeed, the Samsung Rant is the ultimate Rolodex.

    EV-DO

EV-DO stands for Evolution-Data Optimized. It is a type of technology that allows wireless devices access to the Internet. And, in the case of the Samsung Rant, EV-DO not only allows for general web browsing, but it also provides access to Sprint's Power Vision. This service gives your phone even more entertainment options, including television, radio, music downloads and even movies.

    GPS

The GPS function allows you to get directions for virtually any location within the service area. In addition, with Sprint Family Locator, you can find out the exact location of other users on your plan. This works out really nicely when you're trying to keep tabs on teens or even younger children.

    Music Player

The Rant's music player contains very basic options, including playlists, repeat and shuffle. You can also play audio in the background, so you can listen to music while using the phone's other applications.

    Two-Megapixel Camera

With the Rant's two-megapixel camera, you can take pictures in four different resolutions. You can also take advantage of the camera's self-timer, 4x zoom, spot metering and other interesting options. Either way, you'll come out with high-quality photos that look just as good as pictures coming from a traditional camera. Take a look at the pic below to judge for yourself.

    Organizing Tools

The Samsung Rant can also help you with your personal tasks through its various organizing tools. These tools include a voice-based memo pad, calculators, calendars and an alarm clock.

There is also a function that can help you organize your phone's applications. Known as "One-Click," this feature allows you to customize your phone's layout according to your own preferences. This keeps you from having to search through a million and one screens when trying to locate your favorite application.

    Voice Dialing

Voice dialing allows you to make calls by speaking the numbers instead of typing them with the keypad.

    Stereo Bluetooth

Stereo Bluetooth will allow you to use headphones even if they aren't connected to the Samsung Rant. The only catch is that they must be Bluetooth-enabled.
