Samsung P2 Media Player - Features
The Samsung P2 is not short on features by any means. Probably the best feature that the P2 boasts is its Bluetooth capability. You can pair this PMP with any Bluetooth-equipped pair of headphones for wireless operation. The Bluetooth capabilities of the P2 don't end there; this player will also pair with a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone. This feature will automatically stop the music when a call comes in on the paired cell phone, and you can then answer the call by using the headphones that you're already wearing and talk into the P2's mic hole. This means that you don't even have to take the cell phone out of your pocket in order to take a call.
Another outstanding feature of the P2 media player is its video support. While the P2 doesn't support very many video formats, videos look exceptional on the 3" display. The CinemaNow video service works seamlessly with the Samsung P2 and makes it easy to get movies to your device. This service is quite expensive, though, at $9.95-$19.95 per full-length movie; all movies boast 480 by 270 resolution. You can also download your own video clips and movies – provided they are a supported format.
The FM radio in the P2 is better than most other MP3 players out there. There is a total of 30 presets available and also an autoscan feature. Firmware updates will soon allow for FM radio recording with the P2 – stay tuned.
The P2 can also keep you organized to a certain degree with some nice PDA-like features. Some of these features include a text viewer, alarm clock, calendar, and world clock. There are rumors that the P2 may add voice recording capabilities in future firmware updates.
JPEG photos look great on the P2's display. You can store photos in their own separate folder for viewing later on, or you can set any photo as the background wallpaper. You can even flip through photos while the music is playing, which doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but many players don't allow you to do so.
