Samsung Messager II SCH-R560 Cell Phone for Metro PCS

Those searching for a messaging phone at an affordable price might want to take a peek at the Samsung Messager II SCH-R560. That’s not a typo. They named it the messager, not messenger. Sounds awkward to me, but it’s different at least. Keep reading to see how different it is.

The Messager II is a slider phone and a follow-up to the first release of the same name, with a few tweaks in terms of design and features thrown in this time around. The Messager II is available for Metro PCS subscribers. Of course, if you are fishing around for a carrier, or have bad credit and don't want a contract, Metro PCS is a good choice as you can just pay month to month without the hassle of any cancellation fees or anything else associated with a phone contract.

The Messager II's feature set is centered mostly around messaging without too many other bells and whistles thrown in besides Bluetooth and a camera, to name a couple. It has a full QWERTY keyboard that folds out and makes messaging painless. It's design is basic and decent overall; its performance is also commendable.

You can get the Samsung Messager II for $149.99 after rebates from Metro PCS. The price is a bit high, mostly because you are not tied into a one- or two-year contract, as you are with other carriers.

As for the standard features on the Samsung Messager II, you get text and multimedia messaging, a speakerphone, a stop watch, an alarm clock, and both a standard and tip calculator. Organizational tools that come on the phone include a calendar, a notepad, and a voice recorder. If you travel overseas, you can use the handy currency and unit converter, as well as the world clock on the Messager II.

You can save up to 1,000 contacts in the phone and label each with multiple phone numbers and email addresses. You can sort your contacts into separate groups and also assign each their own photo and ringtone. There are 13 standard polyphonic ringtones in all on the phone. If the standard ringtones aren't enough, you can always download more.

You can also customize your Messager II with different wallpapers and other options that are available, and as with the ringtones, if the standard ones don't tickle your fancy, more are available as downloads.
