Samsung Intensity SCH-U450 for Verizon Wireless

If you are in search of a messaging phone at an affordable price, then the Samsung Intensity SCH-U450 for Verizon Wireless might be what you are looking for. The Intensity has an attractive design that won’t weigh you down, as well as a full QWERTY keyboard perfect for messaging fanatics. It also has some nice extras. Priced at only $29.99 with a two-year service agreement from Verizon, the Intensity is also very affordable.

Since the Intensity is classified primarily as a messaging phone, let's take a look at the features related to that function first. For emailing purposes, you can choose between mobile email or mobile Web email. Mobile email costs $5 and allows you to receive email messages from a variety of popular services in a consolidated form directly to your in box. Mobile Web email allows you to use a shortcut to access each particular mail service separately using the phone's web browser.

You can also keep in contact with friends on the Intensity via instant messaging through various clients, such as Yahoo Instant Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, and AIM with Mobile IM. Of course the basic text and multimedia messaging is also available, and you even have the luxury of threaded messaging on the Intensity so you can view the entire conversation history with someone without having to jump between screens.

In terms of basic features, you get a speakerphone, a calculator, a stop watch, an alarm clock, and a world clock. For organizational purposes, there is also a calendar and a notepad. You can store up to 1,000 contacts on the Intensity and label each with multiple phone numbers, email addresses, a screen name, and more.

You can sort your contacts into separate groups, as well as assign a photo and a ringtone to each. There are 18 polyphonic ringtones that come standard on the Intensity, but you can always download more from the carrier using the web browser. You can also customize the Intensity with a variety of downloadable themes and screen savers to give it a personal touch.
