Do you want the best of both worlds? Do you like the flexibility of a touch-screen and a physical full-QWERTY keyboard? Well, it may not be the
best, but the Samsung Flight SGH-A797 for AT&T provides that capability, along with a solid set of features. You can get the Samsung Flight for just $99 after rebates and a two-year service agreement with AT&T.
The basic features on the Samsung Flight include text and multimedia messaging, a speakerphone, conference calling, a stopwatch, a timer, both a standard and a tip calculator, and an alarm clock. For international travelers, there is a world clock and a currency and unit converter. To keep organized, there is a calendar, a to-do list, and a memo book. There is also a sketchpad for artistic types who want to pass the time doodling. For those times when a can’t-miss idea pops into your head, there is a voice recorder.
You can store up to 2,000 contacts in the Flight’s phone book and input multiple phone numbers, email addresses, a street address, and more for each. If for some reason you surpass the 2,000 contact mark, you can store an additional 250 contacts on the SIM card. You can sort your contacts into groups for easier use and add a photo and ringtone to each. You can use the standard ringtones that come on the phone or download more from AT&T. You can also download wallpapers and the like to customize the phone even further, using the phone’s Opera Mini browser.
Moving away from the basic features, we find Bluetooth capability to connect to other devices wirelessly. The Flight supports voice dialing, USB mass storage, and has a file management system on board. The phone can also be synced to your PC. Additionally, you get the luxury of integrated GPS, which, when combined with the AT&T Navigator service, can give you local data as well as turn-by-turn directions to help you when you are lost or in unfamiliar territory.
