RIM BlackBerry Curve 8320 - Features

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8320 is one of the best when it comes to offering specialty features. It's a shame it can't produce videos, but in terms of everything else, the phone pretty much has what today's cell phone users are looking for. This includes: Wi-Fi/EDGE, Bluetooth, A2DP Stereo, light-sensing technology, a two-megapixel camera, a trackball and extremely long battery life.

    Wi-Fi and EDGE

Wi-Fi is a technology that allows cell phones to connect to the Internet wirelessly. Many phones use Wi-Fi, though the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8320 is more exceptional because it can make free calls through the technology. The only catch is that a person has to be in an area that has a Wi-Fi connection. But with the technology becoming more prominent, this shouldn't be a problem in the majority of urban areas.

If a person prefers another Internet option, they can also use EDGE. Like Wi-Fi, EDGE uses wireless technology to get cell phone users online. But unlike Wi-Fi, it has sites and features that are exclusive to that network.

    Bluetooth

Bluetooth technology allows a device to imitate another without wires or advanced programming. A common example would be taking a call through a Bluetooth headset. In such a scenario, your phone only has to be in the vicinity to allow communication. It doesn't matter if it's in a drawer, in your purse or in your pocket... as long as it is within an appropriate distance, you can take the call without having to actually pull the phone out.

    A2D Stereo

With the BlackBerry Curve's A2D Stereo, you have the opportunity to listen to your music with any type of headphones imaginable... even if they are the Walkman type.

    Light-Sensing Technology

If you're in a dark room, the BlackBerry Curve will shine a backlight so you can still see the screen and the keyboard. Conversely, if you are in sunlight or a well-lit room, the backlight will be turned off.

    2-Megapixel Camera

On the back of the BlackBerry Curve, you will find a two-megapixel camera. With this camera, you can take pictures of three different sizes, (640x480, 1600x1,200 and 1,024x768). There is also a 5x zoom and a built-in flash.

    Trackball

Since the BlackBerry Curve doesn't have touch screen technology, it compensates by offering a trackball. This trackball looks and acts like the trackballs found on many laptops, except that it's smaller. To see what it looks like, take a look at the pic below.

    Long Battery Life

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8320 has an extremely long period of battery life. If your phone is on standby, it can go 17 days without being charged. During phone conversations, this goes down to 4 hours. So, if you're out and about, you don't have to worry about ending your conversation because your phone wasn't charged.
