RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310 - Design

    Design

The look of the BlackBerry Curve 8310 is great. With its smooth lines and sleek feel, it should make just about anyone happy to have such a good-looking phone. The 8310 comes in two very attractive colors: red and titanium.

The Curve 8310 is the same size as the original Curve 8300. The overall dimensions of the 8310 measure 4.2 x 2.4 x 0.6 inches, and it weighs just under 4 ounces. The LCD display is 2.5 inches in size and sports QVGA 320 x 240 pixel resolution and 64,000 colors. Watching videos or viewing pictures on this smart phone is very enjoyable thanks to the awesome display. One of the cool features of the 8310 is its light sensor, which automatically adjusts the brightness levels of the display according to the lighting conditions.

The Curve 8310 has a very similar design to other BlackBerries on the market. The front of the device sports the 2.5 inch display, call buttons, and the full QWERTY keyboard. I'm a big fan of this design, because it's simple and straightforward, yet smooth and elegant at the same time.

One of the reasons that BlackBerries are such good messaging phones is because of their great keyboard design. RIM has designed the keyboard to make emailing and text messaging easier by making good-sized keys with a good tactile feel.

The side of the 8310 hosts the dedicated volume controls and PTT button. The back of the phone sports the new 2 megapixel digital camera, which is an upgrade from the 8310's predecessor's 1.3 megapixel camera.

Lastly, the Curve 8310 offers a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack for listening to music. If you'd rather use your wireless Bluetooth headphones, the 8310 is Bluetooth compatible as well.
