    Pre-Paid Cell Phones

You don’t have to submit yourself to the humiliation of a credit check or stare at an extensive list of plans to enjoy the freedom of mobile communication. Pre-paid cell phones (and corresponding plans) are always available through the biggest and smallest mobile service providers. But does this mean pre-paid cell phones are the best choice for you?

    Why Pre-Paid?

A cell phone plan is a contractual agreement and obligation. The mobile service provider agrees to give you phone service based upon certain terms (namely, you pay them for the service). To get one of these contracts, you have to submit to a thorough credit check and fill out applications. In some cases, you may even have to offer up a down payment just to receive service. This payment, by the way, doesn’t go toward the cost of the fancy new phone you’re also about to buy.

For those who have less-than-savory credit or simply want to shy away from a long-term agreement (many cell phone plans last for the duration of two years), pre-paid can be a very viable option. There is no contract, and the only agreement is that you pay money as you use your phone. If you stop using that phone, you can also stop paying.

Interested in pre-paid cellular communications? Your first step is obtaining a service provider.
