    Pharos Traveler GPS 127 Smartphone

The GPS feature on many smartphones these days sometimes stands as a case in point for the disadvantages of a multi-functional device. Is it worth paying a premium on a gadget that does a variety of things, but none of them very well? The Pharos Traveler GPS 127 smartphone claims to be different. Today we'll see how well that claim holds up, and whether the phone is worth its premium price.

It’s no secret that many smartphones on the market today come with GPS capabilities. It seems as if every manufacturer out there is doing their best to keep up with the competition in terms of features and the variety of tasks many phones can now perform. In the GPS realm, many of the smartphones with this capability do work well for navigational purposes, but in order to use the feature, you must pay for a separate subscription or have a cellular signal.

Enter into the picture the Pharos Traveler GPS 127. The Traveler 127 was developed to provide smartphone users with GPS capability already enabled on the phone, without the need for a subscription or cellular service. The navigation software comes already loaded onto the Traveler 127, giving you instant navigational help.

Of course, one has to wonder how necessary this is, and is it worth the extra overall cost to save on a monthly subscription? The Pharos Traveler GPS 127 is not cheap by any means, as it costs approximately $530 unlocked. Besides its telephonic and GPS features, the 127 also has Wi-Fi and 3G support. While its features are plentiful, its underwhelming performance and lethargic nature when it comes to processing definitely makes it a questionable purchase, as we shall discuss further.
