Palm may have been the first company in the PDA space, but it has fallen onto difficult times of late. It's not giving up without a fight though. Today, we take a look at its latest product, the Palm Pre. Is this smartphone just the thing to bring Palm back to glory? Keep reading to find out.
I’m sure everyone has heard of Palm before. Many consider them the father of pocket PCs and smartphones. They began it all with their Palm Pilots. Now that almost everyone has a smartphone, Palm is nothing special. They originally had their OS on their phones, and that was that.
Then they made versions that had Windows Mobile on it. This was the first sign that Palm were in trouble. Their OS had been second to none until then.
After this, Apple came out with the iPhone and Blackberry became a major threat. This massive rush to the market from everyone caused Palm to be left in the dust. Their phones were average and their OS was outdated. It looked like Palm was going to join the hundreds of companies going under in recent years.
The failing company went back to the drawing board, to come up with an exciting new phone with the company's future on its shoulders, the Palm Pre. Can the Pre save the sinking ship?
