    Palm Centro Smart Phone Review

At one time the Pearl, made by the fine folks over at Blackberry, stood alone in the world of hybrid cell phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs), but no reign can last forever. The spurt of free market competition inspired the people over at Palm, the makers of the Palm Pilot, to make a hybrid phone of their very own. In this article we'll check out the Palm Centro smart phone to see if it can bring glory back to a flagging company.

How Smart is the Smart Phone?

We've all run into "smart phones" that didn't exactly live up to their names. So today we are going to find out just how smart this smart phone really is. We'll take a good look at the features that come home with you when you buy it out of the box, review how well things actually work and break down the veneer marketing hype to see if this phone is actually something that you will want to buy, or if you would be better off passing it over.

In order to keep things straight we are going to break these features down into three different categories: features you would find on a more traditional cell phone, features you would find on a traditional PDA, and smart phone features.

We will begin with the features that come with a traditional cell phone. The Palm Centro smart phone is available from a variety of wireless carriers including Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. This is a refreshing change, given the issues that have surrounded the release of another popular phone/mobile device, which I won’t mention by name. It does, however, mean that your experience with signal and usage will depend on your carrier's signal strength in your area in general; don’t expect getting a smart phone to change any problems that you are having with dropped calls.

Other standard cell phone features that you will find on your smart phone are the ability to trade text messages with your friends and a built-in camera to snap shots of whatever strikes your fancy.
