OtterBox for iPod Video - Conclusion

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the workmanship that went into this case. Though I have to honestly say I couldn't bring myself to check the threshold of the drop protection, I do feel my iPod is in good hands while wrapped within the confines of the OtterBox.

One thing to mention before finishing up is the removable clip on the back. It's sturdy enough to stay on, even under rough conditions, and even provides a way to route your headphone cable to give you just the amount you need.

As always, here are the ups and downs for this product:

    Ups:

    • Keeps out sand, dust, water, dirt, and old people.
    • Protects your iPod, even when submerged in water (up to three feet).
    • Removable belt-clip allows cable routing.
    • Integrated headphone jack does not let water near your iPod.

    Downs:

    • Kind of clunky/oversized.
    • Clickwheel didn't perform too well under water.
    • Somewhat pricey as far as iPod cases go ($49 at the time of this writing).

Based on the above, I gave this product a rating of 8 out of 10, and Dev Hardware's Recommended Product Award. If you are looking for a slim and sleek case, look elsewhere. Want something to protect your iPod from your active lifestyle? This may be just what you need.
