Motorola Rokr E8 Cell Phone Review

If you are a music aficionado, and you enjoy the ability to listen to your music on your mobile phone, then you're not alone. It seems that people shopping for cell phones these days basically require the phone to double as an MP3 player. Well, if you're looking for the latest in music capabilities when it comes to mobile phones, then look no further than the Motorola Rokr E8.

    Introduction

This cell phone is not a Blackberry or an iPhone. It does not have a lot of the bells and whistles that you will find in these other phones, but it does have some features that you are going to like. The Motorola ROKR E8 is inexpensive compared to the Blackberry or iPhone. It is reliable. As previously stated, you will love not only its music capabilities, but perhaps even its keypad. I'll explain why later in this article.

You can say that theMotorola ROKR 8(pronounced "Rocker") mobile phone is geared more towards the consumer as opposed to the business professional. For example, you cannot access your corporate email messages. You also cannot wirelessly download any music or data.

But do not underestimate this mobile phone. It has caught the attention of many technology enthusiasts and professionals in the industry. The Motorola got the spotlight at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2008, and earned two awards. EvenT-Mobilehas gotten into the act. It has been promoting the mobile phone as the top pick for its music phone category. If you sign a two-year contract with T-Mobile, the Motorola ROKR E8 only costs $199.99. Otherwise, it retails for $349.99.

    Design

The Motorola ROKR E8 has a sleek and flawless design. The mobile phone's dimensions are 115 x 53 x 10.6 mm. It weighs approximately 100 grams. The screen's resolution is 320 x 240 pixels. It's a TFT screen that displays 262,144 colors.

The Motorola ROKR E8 features a touch-sensitive keypad, along with a navigation scroll wheel. It comes equipped with 2 GB internal memory. You can purchase a microSD card to get more memory. The device supports up to 4GB capacity. With the call records feature, the memory can store up to 50 dialed, 50 missed, and 50 received calls. It also has a 3.5 mm headset jack. The cell phone boasts a high-speed USB 2.0 port, but not an infrared port. It has a built-in hands-free system.

The Motorola ROKR E8 comes in two colors, dark navy and platinum. The battery lasts up to 300 hours on stand-by; it provides up to five hours of talk time. It comes with a Li-Ion 970 mAh (BK60) standard battery.
