If for some reason there is a POI that you know exists, but does not show up via the TN765t's database of pre-loaded POIs, you can do a more intensive search using Google Local Search. The service is integrated within the GPS, and allows you to go the extra mile, so to speak, in searching for a specific location or business. Having the Google Local Search makes the GPS much more powerful and flexible when searching for places, as it adds onto the already extensive POI database.
Google Local Search is part of the MotoExtras service, which is a subscription-based service that adds plenty of real-time data that many travelers may find useful. While it does cost a fee, a 90 day trial of MotoExtras comes with the TN765t.
Having the three-month trial of the service is a definite plus, as you can test it out and see if it is actually worth the subscription. If you travel constantly, however, you will likely find that MotoExtras is worth its weight in gold.
One of the MotoExtras features is a flight status application that will give you current data regarding flight departures and arrivals. Another function gives you current and future weather forecasts for your area.
If you are looking to save some money, the TN765t will do a local search and tell you which gas stations have the best fuel prices. To keep you from getting tickets, there is a function that will advise you of intersections where red light cameras are in effect. You can even perform web searches using the Bing search engine by using voice commands.
MotoExtras also provides current traffic updates that will let you know if there are any tie-ups between you and your destination that are caused by construction, traffic accidents, and more. By using the updates, you will be given re-routing options to skip the delays.
A major strength of the MotoNav TN765t is its multitasking ability. Its wider display, which will be discussed in a bit, offers plenty of real estate. Not only can you view a large map of your route, but you can view other features at the same time.
If you choose, you can view the map in full-screen mode. You can also keep it in view in the center of the display, but have sight of extra information and options on the right and left sides of screen. The left side holds vital trip information, such as turns, POIs, and more. The right side holds options where you can access other features of the GPS. To keep you en route, the map will stay visible even if you are accessing another feature or happen to get interrupted by a Bluetooth call.
