Mobile Web Browsing - Favorite Sites

I have been using my phone for a few months. I've found the mobile versions of my favorite sites, and some great websites for mobile devices. Hate or love them, they are worth a look.

My first website discovery was ORB (http://www.orb.com/). It uses a program running on your home computer paired with your logging onto their site to share media across the Internet. I can send my music, video, and TV from my TV tuner to my smart phone. It does need a good connection speed to send video to your phone. It's great for when you miss your favorite TV show, or just need to kill sometime. The site itself, when you go to log on to your account, isn't too friendly. The link you need to click is at the top, so it isn't too bad to get there. The page after you log on to it is smart phone friendly.

The weather is constantly changing, and I like to keep a step ahead of the next thunderstorm. I use weather.com to check the weather. Typing your standard URL for weather.com into your smart phone will automatically take you to their mobile-friendly site. It is fully functional, missing only maps in motions. If you like to be on top of the weather, I don't see the need for anything past this site.

I'm a huge fan of slickdeals.net. I find tons of deals there on stuff I want. Going to slickdeals.net on your phone is a killer. You can't navigate anywhere efficiently and quickly. Reading the pages are a mess as well. I tried m.slickdeals.net, and viola, its perfect. I was pleasantly surprised when I launched the mobile site.

eBay crashes my browser when I try to access the page, making it the least friendly mobile page I have encountered so far. The iPhone has its own dedicated program that does eBay, but that doesn't help with other smart phones. I did manage to find the mobile site m.ebay.com, and it does the job. It doesn't seem nearly as full featured as the desktop site; for example, it lacks the motors.ebay.com category.
