Mobile Web Browsing
Many people are buying smart phones when they upgrade their phones, whether a Windows Mobile device, Palm, Blackberry or the iPhone. All of these phones come with a web browser that can not only display the WAP websites, but also full-fledged web pages. If you expect your web browsing experience on your smart phone to match the one on your desktop, however, you're in for a big disappointment. Keep reading to learn how to improve it.
The first thing I wanted to do with my phone was surf the web. Surfing the web can be a little difficult on smart phones, because most web pages are not designed to be viewed on such a small screen or at the connection speed you might get. It can be frustrating to try to view your favorite sites, only to find that the device renders them unreadable, if they even come up properly. Here is how you can make the best out of your phone browsing experience.
The first thing I suggest is to make sure your plan has data included on it. Without it you can be charged $1/MB, and this will really rack up your bill. I have seen people stuck with $5,000+ phone bills for using the Internet without a plan.
I would recommend an unlimited data plan. Most providers offer a plan with a limited amount of data and then charge you a lot if you go over. Unlimited data is only around $10-15 more and you won't ever have overages. Some companies are now limiting you to 5 GB of data per month, but I haven't had an issue with getting anywhere near that much space.
Browsers

After you get the data connection set up on the network side of things, it's time to focus on your phone. Each OS (iPhone, WM, Blackberry, Palm) supports different browsers, so the Internet will seem a little different. I have a Windows Mobile phone, and even the new Internet Explorer with 6.1 isn't as capable as other browsers available.
They best browser I have used is Opera for the smart phone. It supports a lot more sites and seems to get the proper layout on more sites than IE does. Opera is available for multiple platforms.
