Lenntek`s The Hookup - Opening the box

The Hookup was sent to us in a plain white cardboard box.  I'm sure retail packaging is in the works, since this is the kind of product one would expect to find stacked on the shelf in their favorite electronics store.

Opening the box only took a second, and yielded a form-fitting plastic tray containing the critical pieces, with the other contents tucked below.

When I removed the pieces from their snug beds, here is what I had.

Starting at the top left, the contents included:

    • The transmitter
    • The receiver
    • USB cord for charging the receiver
    • A soft case for holding the iPod with the transmitter attached
    • A small clip-on case for the receiver
    • An instruction manual

Overall, it's a pretty standard package for this kind of product.

The transmitter is designed to fit snugly to the bottom of your full-sized iPod and attach to the dock connector.  There is a pass-thru on the bottom of the connector, so you can still plug in your docking cable and charge your iPod, and/or manage the contents.

Connecting this thing is a real no-brainer.  You line up the docking port and voila!  They are "hooked up"!

Once hooked together, I was kind of worried about the connection between the two.  As you can see from the pictures above, there is a small gap between the two pieces, which puts the connection solely on the docking adapter.  This seems VERY fragile to me.

Above is a stock picture I downloaded from Lenntek's website.  If you look, you will see that the above picture also has a small gap between the transmitter and the iPod.  I would feel a whole lot better if this connection was better secured.

       · Again, this product would have gotten alot better rating if the transmitter attached...
