The LG Expo is a smartphone for AT&T subscribers that is geared towards business professionals. Its incorporation of the Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional operating system packs it with many features to help office-types stay connected while on the run. The LG Expo is available for $99.99 after rebates with a new service plan from AT&T.
Although the LG Expo comes with several features, let’s get the basics out of the way first. The Expo comes loaded with the Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional operating system, which is geared towards business professionals and their many needs. Windows Mobile 6.5 offers several ways to easily customize the Expo’s home screen so you can access your most important and heavily used applications with ease. Windows 6.5 also provides users with other business-related features in terms of productivity, which will be discussed later in this review.
The LG Expo is powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor that allows you to run several applications at the same time without lethargic performance. As far as the basic features are concerned, the Expo comes with an alarm clock, a stopwatch, and a calculator. It also comes with a calendar and a notepad to help you keep organized.
Some voice-related features include a speakerphone, voice dialing, support for voice commands, as well as the ability to participate in conference calls. If you happen to travel a lot for business or pleasure, you will be glad to know that the Expo is also a quad-band GSM phone, meaning you can use it on overseas networks as well.
You can store as many contacts in the Expo’s phone book as will fit onto its internal memory, and an overflow of up to 250 contacts can be stored on the phone’s SIM card. For each contact, you can input several phone numbers, email addresses, a street address, notes, and more.
Contacts can be split up into separate groups for better organization, and each contact can be given its own ringtone and photo. If the standard ringtones that come on the Expo do not satisfy you, more are available for download from AT&T. The option also exists to further customize the phone’s appearance by downloading wallpapers and themes from the carrier.
