    Jensen NVX225 GPS

Jensen is a company known for its budget electronics. You've probably noticed they've put their foot forward into the GPS market with several low cost navsystems. This article will specifically probe the NVX225 GPS and examine its design features along with its performance capabilities. Read on to find out more.

    Introduction

When I think of Jensen, I think of budget car audio. When I was younger, I was really into car audio, but I didn't have the money to purchase the high-end stuff. Jensen was a good alternative to the expensive car audio audio systems such as those from Rockford Fosgate, Eclipse, JL, and others. Jensen's portable GPS devices are in the same boat as their car audio line of products--average quality, low prices. The Jensen NVX225 will not outperform the $400 GPS units out there, but it does hold its own in the $200 price range.

When the NVX225 initially made its way into the GPS market, it came with a hefty $299 price tag. Since then the price has fallen to a more comfortable level (about $185 in some online stores). This price range is much more suitable for it than the MSRP. At around $200 there are some much better alternatives out there. For another $20, you can step up to the Garmin Nuvi 200, which offers a whole array of features that the Jensen device does not. It's not that the Jensen NXV225 is not capable of performing GPS functions sufficiently, it's just that there are much better alternatives out there for the money.

The NVX225 is a very basic player. The user interface (UI) is nothing too special. It does offer turn-by-turn directions with voice, although it doesn't offer Text-to-Speech (TTS) capabilities. Overall, I have to say that this GPS device is rather boring. I would go with a different choice if I had to choose. If you are a die-hard Jensen fan, or you find an incredible deal on one of these Jensen GPS units, read on and find out more about this device.
