HTC Vox S710 Smart Phone - Features

The S710 is run by Windows Mobile 6 Standard Edition. I like this version a lot, and I think others will find it easy to use and very similar to their PC's Windows software. This software allows for editing and viewing of Microsoft Office documents and PDF documents, but it does not allow for creation of new documents through these programs.

The S710 is Wi-Fi equipped with a connection to the Internet via the 802.11 b/g.  This phone is also Bluetooth compatible which is pretty standard in new smart phones. The Windows software includes Internet Explorer, but if you prefer a different browser you can download a different one. Browsing the Internet works pretty well in this phone, although you must be near a hot spot in order to get Internet access. It would have been nice to see 3G in this phone so that a hot spot would not be needed to connect to the Internet. Nevertheless, it works great for email, searching for directions, looking up an address, and other general searching online.

One of the great features of this phone is the audio player. This phone carries a version of Windows Media Player, which is what I use for music on my own PC so I prefer it. The S710 allows you to listen to music through the included headphones, and it sounds pretty good. Music is very organized; it is sorted by artist, album, genre, and so forth. You can even create your own play list. Another cool function of the audio player is that you can turn any song on your phone into a ring tone.  You can even crop certain parts of a song for the ring tone so that you don't have to play the entire song as the ring tone. No more spending $0.99 for a ring tone!

The S710 is also capable of performing GPS functions, although it does not come GPS ready. Using software such as TomTom 6 will get the GPS up and running on this phone.

The HTC Vox S710 comes equipped with the following items straight out of the box:

    • S710 Smart phone
    • CD-Rom
    • Headset
    • Charger/ USB sync cable
    • Manual and warranty

The features of this phone are easily up to par with some of the best smart phones on the market.  This phone is very refined in its design and all of its features. In short, it's a great choice.
