HTC Vox S710 Smart Phone - Design and Cosmetics
(Page 2 of 4 )
You can tell right from the get-go that the design of the S710 was well thought out. This phone is relatively small measuring in at 3.9 x 1.9 x 0.6 inches and it weighs 4.2 ounces. Compared with other smart phones, this phone is quite small in every aspect except thickness. Still, it is not overly thick, and will fit into most pockets with no problem at all.

The phone is not only small, but it looks great too. The front of the phone sports a large 2.4 inch screen as well as the keypad. It also sports an attractive silver finish, while the back of the phone is made of a durable rubbery substance. Overall, HTC has done a great job of balancing great looks and a solid feel to the phone to give you a sense of its durability.
The full QWERTY keyboard is easily accessible by sliding the top cover out. The keyboard is spring loaded, and it gives the user a satisfying tone when it is locked in place. The keyboard is very touch sensitive and easy to use. It is only 3 keys high, as compared to some of the S710's competitors who have a 4 key high keyboard.

The large 2.4 inch screen is very vibrant, and visible in most lighting conditions. The screen offers 320 x 240 pixel resolution, and displays over 65,000 colors. The screen displays great quality pictures and very fluid videos, but there is one big drawback to this phone when it comes to its screen. It is not a touch-screen. This could be a big problem for people who have become accustomed to using a touch-screen.
As you navigate the exterior of the S710, you will find the volume control and speaker phone button on the left side of the body. On the opposite side of the phone, you will find the camera button and the micro-SD expansion slot which gives the user the ability to get up to 2 GB of additional memory. The camera in the S710 is a pretty standard 2 mega pixel camera which is located on the back panel of the phone. It takes decent pictures, all things considered, but it will not replace your digital camera by any means. Also, it does not have a flash, so night pictures are out of the question. The camera is still a good option to have when you want to take a picture and you don't have your digital camera on hand.
When you take a look at the bottom of the phone, you will find the mini USB port used to charge the phone and connect to a PC. This mini USB port is also used to connect the included headphones to the phone. These headphones sound pretty good, but it would have been better for HTC to use a standard headphone jack rather than a mini USB port for the connection.
