HTC Diamond - Display, Memory, and Features

Most devices seem to lack sufficient memory. Not this one. It has 256 MB ROM, 192 MB RAM, and an additional 4 GB of memory. This is probably for music, movies and other applications. It is a really nice addition and isn't found in many devices.  It seems like the only devices with additional storage are the iPhone and this phone.

Sadly, the iPhone has twice the memory on the lowest level model. I don't carry a lot of music around, and I have a 4 GB card for my phone, which is only half-filled. It is definitely something I like in new devices. I hope other phone makers get the hint.

The HTC Diamond features a 2.8 inch touch screen with VGA resolution. The main camera is 3.2 MP, while the secondary camera is VGA. The phone I bought last month was only 1 MP. It's nice to see phones getting decent cameras; soon we might be able to take "real" pictures with our phones.

This device also has built-in GPS/aGPS, Bluetooth 2.0, and Wi-Fi.  In fact, I can't think of any type of connection that is missing from this device. A radio? No, that's covered; it also boasts a built-in FM tuner.

If you don't think HTC packed this smart phone with all the goodies, guess what? They even built in an accelerometer! The iPhone has this built in as well, but not many other devices do. This is what flips the screen between vertical and horizontal when you rotate the phone a certain direction. To demo this on the phone, HTC has added a little game in which you try to get the marbles down the holes by tilting your phone to maneuver them.
